Springs Preserve

The Springs Preserve opened in Las Vegas on June 8, 2007. Built around the original site of the natural springs which brought life to the desert, the Springs Preserves offers historical exhibits, education about sustainable living and several activities and classes for all ages.

Yearly Memberships $25 Individual $60 Family January 29 through May 13, 2012 the Origen Experience is hosting Space: A journey to Our Future. The are a number of interactive space exhibit with informative visual and audio presentations.

Origen Museum: Live Animal habitats The outdoor exhibit features animals native to the Mojave desert. There are several interactive exhibits for children too.

Natural Mojave Gallery Learn about the geological and biological history of the Mojave Desert in this part of the museum. The Flash Flood exhibit is so much fun to experience. Learn about the Mormon who settled in Las Vegas. Read about the land auctions and the native Indians, watch a short video about the building of Hoover Dam and find out what organisms are in the soil.

Sustainability Gallery Discover ways you can help the environment or plan to make a difference by recycling or learn about eco-friendly building materials.

Gardens at Spring Preserve

David Thompson made several "junk art" sculptures placed throughout the garden. The gardens are open daily from 10am to 6pm or dusk (whichever comes first).

Springs Cafe by the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas

Hours: Monday through Friday 11am to 3pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4pm Other activities include gardening classes, nature trading post, playgrounds, and lots of interactive learning. There is a gift shop and nature library too. Rent a bike or walk on the trails. There are countless things to do at Spring Preserve. I hope you take the time to visit this treasure in the desert.
